If you don't want to read the back cover summary I listed below, here's a summary in a sentence: it's a book that combines traditional fantasy and apocalypse sci-fi (dystopia if you stretch it) with griffins, shape-shifters, warfare, and adventure.

Back Cover Summary:

Disbelief will be what destroys her world.

Raetha is dying. The home of Sienna Ashton, Firethorne, was once a place of agriculture and riches. But the times are changing, and the air is growing hotter. More crops are shriveling than ever before. The Firethorne mines have become dangerous, and cave-ins the common death for many. As Raetha is hit with another fierce summer, Sienna suffers yet another blow: Grandfather is suffering from an unknown disease. With the comfort of her friend Cad and riding the local griffins, Sienna tries to push the thoughts of Grandfather away. Of course, she cannot ignore him forever. Grandfather, in his final days, tells her a story of chaos and myth; a story of war and a planet called Earth. On Earth, the Raethan griffins gain unimaginable powers to heal the destruction. Yet as his condition worsens, Sienna cannot help but doubt. Was Grandfather’s story too crazy to believe, or could he be telling the truth?


And finally, about the cover: probably the most labor-intensive digital painting I've ever done O.O I'd say it's one of my best pieces. While not without its flaws, I'm proud of the finished product. My people painting skills still have much to be desired, but...I'm getting there They'll be better by the end of the year; I can guarantee that.
